Saad-Al-Jabri is the former Saudi official who made the serious accusation. According to him, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman forged his father’s signature. He did this to start the long and unresolved war against Yemen’s Houthi rebels. In an interview, Al-Jabri shared his thoughts and later on gave more evidence in a statement to The Associated Press. The Saudi government ignored these allegations and has not responded to these claims. They also have labelled al-Jabri as a discredited former official.
At this time, Al-Jabari lives in Canada and faces serious threats from Saudi Arabia. He believes that in order to force him to come back to Saudi Arabia, his two children are imprisoned. Also, Al-jabri fears that Mohammad Bin Salman may have planned to kill him silently. These accusations and the lack of response from Saudi Arabia add to the ongoing tension and controversy surrounding al-Jabri’s situation.
According to Al-jabri,
“ I am not a dissident, nor did I put myself in this situation by choice.”
He further added,
“I was a high-ranking Saudi official who dedicated himself to safeguarding his country, recognized for saving thousands of Saudi and Western lives. Now I am a father doing everything possible to secure the release of his children.”
The fact is also coming out now that Salman’s father is 88 now, and gave all of his duties to his son, Mohammad Bin Salman. So, Prince Mohammed is the main leader of Saudi Arabia. In 2015, when the Yemen war began, the strong leadership of Mohammad Bin Salman became noticeable. It seems to have led to a more extensive crackdown on anyone who might challenge his authority or power. Al-jabri, who was a trustworthy official from the Saudi Interior Ministry confirmed that Mohammed Bin Salman did the wrong action. He signed an order letter to start the war rather than his father.
At that time, Prince Mohammed was serving as the defence minister. This claim highlights the extent of Prince Mohammed’s influence and control, showing that he was actively involved in major decisions and actions of the Saudi government during that period.
According to Al-Jabri, he made a deal with the Obama Administration for Saudi Arabia to start airstrikes against Houthis. The idea was to deal with the threat from the air and push for peace without sending ground troops. In order to continue this, Al-jabri boss, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef held a meeting.
But Prince Mohammad Bin Salman opposed this plan. He said again and again that within two months he could defeat the Houthis with ground attack. Al-Jabri claims that an order was issued from the royal family to change the plan and approve the ground operation. However, it was supposed that the king was unaware of the changing idea and on approval order the signature was fake.
However, the United States Department did not pass any comment on these claims. The war against the Houthis, which was promised to end quickly, has continued for nearly a decade, causing over 150,000 deaths and a major humanitarian crisis.
After the Gaza war, the Houthis have really shaken up things. Especially with their attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. This has caused major disruptions and also it led to a more complicated situation for the United States since WWII.
Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, who was once a trusted ally of the United States in the fight against al-Qaida after 9/11, was replaced by King Salman in 2017. Now, it’s rumored that he’s been under house arrest.
Al-Jabri’s lawsuit against Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a U.S. court is quite dramatic. He claims that the crown prince wants him dead because he fled the country. Al-Jabri has openly accused him of planning his assassination and believes that the crown prince won’t be satisfied until he’s gone.
The fear of Al-jabri is increasing day by day. This is because his children are still imprisoned in the kingdom. He feels that remaining silent is not the solution to the problem. It only worsened the situation so he decided to speak out for the sake of love of his family and country. He claimed again and again that Mohammad Bin Salman was responsible for this war and could end it at any time.
